Boosting the impact of organizations that are working for a better world

You work for a better world. My mission is to help you boost the impact of your work.

April Ingle Consulting

my background

my mission

At April Ingle Consulting I work with you as a collaborator, facilitator and coach to empower you with the tools, training and strategies you need to boost your impact - whether that be your communications, collaborations, fundraising, strategic and program planning, leadership development, board and volunteer engagement, staffing, management, or events.

I have over 16 years of experience running non-profits, working with boards and collaborating within coalitions. I understand the need for strategic vision, practical goals, and workable work plans to achieve your mission. I believe that the processes you use to make decisions and create a shared vision and direction are extremely important, and I know which processes work - and which ones do not - in different situations. Through my experiences, and much trial and error, I have come to understand and create systems for logical, practical, inspired, and collaborative visioning and decision-making.

I am a hard worker with a history of impact. When I started as Executive Director of Georgia River Network (GRN) in 2003, we had a staff of two and a $153,000 annual budget. When I departed 11 years later to start April Ingle Consulting, GRN had a staff of seven and a team of contractors, interns, board members and volunteers that worked together to provide extremely popular and impactful programs with a $650,000 annual budget.

Our growth was possible because we believed in the power of teams and collaborative work, we strategically planned our work and programs, and we focused on and were successful at engaging partners and funders – from a variety of sectors - to join with us in our mission and work.

While at GRN I also led the Communications Team of the Georgia Water Coalition, a highly effective coalition of 200+ organizations and businesses working together to promote clean water protections. We developed and implemented highly successful public policy campaigns and media relations, and collaboratively developed communications strategies and messaging with our diverse partners.

Throughout my career, I have facilitated strategic and other planning processes within the organizations I have led and facilitated strategic planning for numerous other organizations.

I also have extensive experience with project and event planning and execution. Whether it was an issue campaign or the annual 7-day Paddle Georgia event, I know through first-hand experience how to articulate and oversee all the pieces of work that need to get done. I understand how to plug in and recruit people who are skilled and talented for the different jobs, and prep for and manage logistics (and the unexpected turn of events) for seamless execution.

I have also honed my skills as an effective communicator, recruiter, and organizer. Whether it is through a Board of Directors, volunteers, members, network of organizations, or coalition partners, I understand how to work collaboratively and connect people and their personal goals and objectives with the roles and opportunities to meet the organization’s overall strategic goals and objectives.
